The certificate of habitability is a mandatory document, issued by the Mallorca Island Council, which proves that a property destined for habitation complies the minimum conditions of measurements, hygiene, structure and necessary facilities.
It provides information about the property’s urban legality.
It is not possible to contract the services of water supply, sewage system, electricity, gas or telephone if the property does not have a valid certificate of habitability.
